Here it is, the only excuse you’ll ever need to never leave your house again: more than 40(!) seasons ofLaw & Orderand its spin-off series. Dick Wolf’s much beloved franchise is among the biggest draws of the new Peacock streaming service, which will launch on April 15. NBCUniversal announced details about its?new venture in New York on Thursday, and here’s?everything we know about the service, including which shows you’ll be able to stream, what kind of original content will appear, how much it’ll cost, and more.

What’s It Called?

The official name for the new competitor to Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV+, Disney+, and the upcoming HBO Max:. (Yes, like the company logo.)Peacock
When Does It Launch?
April 15 for Xfinity X1 and Flex customers. Other viewers?will have access to the service on July 15, just in time for the network and streaming service to show off its coverage of the Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
How Much Will It Cost?
Peacock?will be both advertising- and subscription-supported.?Peacock Premium will be bundled at no cost for the 24 million Comcast and Cox subscribers, with ads from companies like Eli Lilly and Company, State Farm, Target, and Unilever. Non-Comcast and Cox subscribers can access the Premium service for $4.99 per month, and both Vomcast/Cox subscribers and other Peacock Premium subscribers can upgrade to an ad-free version for an additional $5 per month.
Peacock will also offer Peacock Free, an ad-supported version of the service with a more limited — or “curated,” as thecalls it?— selection of the service’s original and classic programming.Peacock press announcement

In sports, Peacock?will?offer viewers live coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies from the Tokyo Olympics before they air on NBC, plus three daily Olympics coverage programs, including live coverage of one of the day’s most exciting events, and midday and nightly digests of all the day’s Olympics happenings.
Peacock will also be a streaming home for 2,000 hours of Premier League soccer coverage, including more than 140 matches that aren’t available on television, as well as clips and replays of the most exciting moments from the pitch, according to?a Peacock press release.?And the?Ryder Cup golf tournament will? be coming to the service in September 2020.
Talk shows and news will also feature into Peacock’s program offerings, with, beginning in July, Peacock Premium viewers getting exclusive early access to that night’s airings of(at 8 p.m. ET) andat 9 p.m. ET. Peacock executives announced they signed a multi-year deal with comedian‘s Laugh Out Loud network, which includes equity investment in the company, a first-look deal for LOL programming, and distribution of LOL’s catalog on the streaming service.
